Lotus Ritual exists at the threshold between worlds. The crystals we curate, the smoke we burn, and the wisdom we share all carry origins — communities, lineages, and lands that came long before us. This page is our ongoing effort to speak plainly about where we come from, how we work, what we value, and what we are still building.
Lotus Ritual is built across two places. Our cultural roots, sourcing, incense blending, and ritual preparation are based in Yunnan, China. Our customer-facing operations are based in Denver, Colorado, where Aura Mercantile LLC is registered for North American service, legal, and fulfillment purposes.
We say this plainly: our products are not American-made, and we do not present them as such. They are made and prepared in China with care, cultural proximity, and relationships we continue to deepen.
Many of our products are sourced from Yunnan Province, China.
Before packing, each product is blessed in Yunnan through a Yi ritual described on our Blessing page. We approach these practices with respect, and we do not claim to represent the Yi community as a whole.
Translating concepts like qi (气), wuxing (五行), or chakra associations into English carries the risk of flattening them. Our descriptions are one interpretation among many. We encourage our community to seek out scholars, cultural practitioners, and primary sources to deepen their own understanding — Lotus Ritual is a doorway, not the destination.
We are working toward transparency that is real, specific, and supportable.
We work with sourcing partners, artisans, and practitioners we have personally vetted wherever possible. As our supply chain matures, we are working toward clearer documentation around sourcing, compensation, and production relationships.
We aim to compensate the people we work with for their skill, cultural knowledge, time, and craft — not simply the finished product.
At this stage, our direct relationships are strongest with artisans, incense makers, and ritual practitioners; mineral extraction remains an area where we are working toward deeper transparency.
Ritual should not belong to one body, one background, one income level, or one version of beauty.
We create objects and guidance for anyone seeking stillness, protection, clarity, or a more intentional relationship with their space. We design for the soul, not the demographic — while recognizing that real people arrive with real bodies, histories, budgets, beliefs, and access needs.
We are working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Our current efforts include improving color contrast, keyboard navigation, alt text, readable typography, and screen-reader support across key shopping pages.

Honesty is part of respect. We are not a perfect company, and pretending otherwise would dishonor the very traditions we draw from.
Here is what we are still building:
If you see something we should be doing better, or differently, write to us. We read every message.
The philosophy beneath this page — that we are not separate beings drawn together by accident, but the same matter briefly arranged into different forms — is something we have written about more fully in The Oracle.
This page is not a finished document. It is a living one.
If you want to share feedback, ask a question, suggest a correction, or hold us accountable to anything stated here, we welcome it.
